Steph Burdorff

I have always been inspired by the beauty of the world around me. I have always loved to capture the candid moments on film (yes, before digital) and now via the smartphone. I am at my happiest if I am traveling, listening to music, doodling and being creative, and helping others feel their best.

I embrace all of my interests, and I never want to pigeon hole myself. I have learned how all of my interests can meet in the middle.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY:

I love capturing families - big and small. There is a pure sense of joy watching the mothers, fathers and siblings interacting with each other through the lens. It is as close as I imagine being a fly on the wall. I have also photographed over 200 musicians live in concert including Hanson, Locksley, Steel Train, Gavin DeGraw, Josh Kelley, Sara Bareilles, Mandy Moore, Bo Bice, Tyler Hilton, Spin Doctors, Jason Mraz, Daughtry, Rooney, and Lady A.

  • FANDOM:

Everyone is a fan of something. Everyone deserves to like what they like, and not get bullied into thinking what they like is wrong. Fans know their favorite tv show, movie, music frontwards and backwards, and usually more of an expert than the creator themselves. Fans escape into their favorite worlds again and again for comfort, and they also long for those worlds to be expanded. It’s easy to find your likeminded community that circulates around a fandom. You aren’t alone.

  • MODERN CALLIGRAPHY:

I have always doodled with words, and am self taught in modern calligraphy, casually known as hand lettering. Having an Etsy store as let that creative outlet grow.

  • TRAVEL

I wouldn’t be me if I couldn’t travel. I love the homey feeling of a small town, and the busyness of a big city. I feel at ease in Stars Hollow and in New York City. Exploring new places gives me joy, and I love wandering around neighborhoods making up stories in my head of the people who live there. Remember to be in the present, and to pay attention the small details.
