Steph Burdorff

I've spent my whole life chasing the things that make me feel most alive — a candid moment through a lens, a perfectly lettered word, a town I've never walked through before, a song that hits exactly right. What started on film (yes, actual film) has grown into a creative life that spans photography, calligraphy, travel, and fandom. I don't believe in picking one thing. I believe in doing all of them well.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY:

There's nothing quite like watching a family be a family through a lens. The way a dad sneaks a look at his kid, the chaos of siblings, the quiet in between… I live for all of it. I've photographed families of every size, and I've also spent years on the other side of the stage, shooting over 200 musicians live in concert, including Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Mandy Moore, Daughtry, and Lady A. Whether it's a living room, or a ship, I'm always looking for the moment that tells the real story.

  • FANDOM:

Everyone is a fan of something. And every fan knows their world - the show, the album, the film - more deeply than almost anyone else. Fandom is community, comfort, and creativity all at once, and there's no shame in loving what you love. I've lived in those worlds too, and I believe in celebrating them.

  • MODERN CALLIGRAPHY:

I've always doodled with words. What started as something I did in the margins eventually became a full creative practice. I'm self-taught in modern calligraphy and hand lettering, and I sell custom work through my Etsy shop. There's something deeply satisfying about making words beautiful.

  • TRAVEL

I feel at home in a small town and equally alive in a big city. Wandering a new neighborhood, noticing the details most people walk past, imagining the lives behind the doors - that's my idea of a perfect afternoon. Travel reminds me to slow down and pay attention, and it has a way of showing up in everything else I create.
